Alice is a caring, committed piano teacher with a creative and pragmatic approach to solve problems in piano teaching.
She was born and educated in Hong Kong. She studied Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Music, majoring in composition and music production, and Master of Arts in Music, majoring in piano pedagogy at Hong Kong Baptist University. Her important piano teachers include Euphemia Chong and Chan Siu Fan. She obtained LTCL (Recital) in piano and Dip ABRSM in piano teaching (distinction) .
She is also interested in historical musicology. She learnt harpsichord playing in undergraduate study. In 2012 she attended a seminar of history-based performance and fortepiano conducted by Dr Bart van Oort. She was very lucky to have a chance to learn fortepiano in this seminar.
She has been taught over twenty years. Her students range from preschoolers to middle-aged adults, and from complete beginners to diploma level students. Her recent concern is to facilitate people with special needs and learning difficulties in piano learning process. She hopes she can bring some fresh perspectives on this topic.
Besides music, she enjoys reading and writing during her leisure time.
