Carlos Cabezas is the founder and director of Amati Music Studio in Topeka. KS. Where he teaches Violin, Guitar, and Piano. Mr. Cabezas graduated with a Bachelor of Music from Washburn University, Topeka, Kansas.

He was born into a musical family in Ibague-Colombia. At the age of 9 was accepted in the Music Conservatory of Tolima where he study violin under the tutoring of professor Julio Camacho. In 2005 was granted full scholarship to study at Washburn University with Dr. Larisa Elisha. Under her tutoring Mr. Cabezas has won first price in KMTA music competitions (Kansas Music Teachers Association) in the category Freshman/Sophomore 2006 and Junior/Senior in 2007. Carlos was part of the Honors Fetter String Quartet that was the national finalist at MTNA competition in 2008-2009. He served as concertmaster for All-State Kansas Philharmonic Orchestra in 2013. Also was granted to participate in the Global Summer Institute of Music in 2017 where he studied violin with the renowned Canadian violinist Dr. Guillaume Tardif.

Mr. Cabezas has played with numerous ensembles. Chamber Orchestra of Caldas, Philharmonic Orchestra of Medellin, Topeka Symphony, Emporia Symphony, Kinnor Philharmonic Orchestra, KU Symphony Orchestra among others. He has been an active National Association for Music Education and Music Teacher National Association member since 2023.
