I LOVE teaching piano & cello!! My passion is to inspire each one of my students to love and appreciate music. This is accomplished through helping students discover their individual musical strengths, encouraging creativity, and building essential skills that develop them into confident and excellent musicians. Whether your music journey in my studio leads to performing in a jazz band, praise band, orchestra , earning a college music degree, or playing just for a fun, piano and cello lessons truly are an investment into a lifetime of enjoying music!

I was greatly inspired by my piano teachers Dr. Irene Weiss Peery-Fox and Dr. Dianne Hardy. My cello professor, Dr. James McWhorter, encouraged me immensely during my college years. Many thanks to them for helping shape me into the musician and teacher I am today.

At 18, I began teaching piano and knew this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life! The last chapter of my formal musical studies brought me to Utah State University where I received a Bachelor of Music cum laude in Piano Pedagogy.

Along with piano study, came cello lessons at 10 until age 22. Playing in orchestra through my childhood, during my university years, and now in the Utah Philharmonic Orchestra as principal celiist ,is another great love of mine!

My musical adventure continues to this day as I begin my 33 year of teaching this September 2023! Besides teaching piano and cello, I love spending time with my wonderful husband of 34 years and our 4 amazing children, enjoying the great outdoors of Utah, and sipping a mug of coffee!
