Welcome to Beth Ellen’s Piano Cats Studio in Lexington, Kentucky! Beth Ellen holds an M.M in Piano Performance from The Juilliard School and a B.M in Piano Performance from Oberlin Conservatory of Music, as well as certifications in Dalcroze Eurhythmics, Orff-Schulwerk, Kodaly, and Music Learning Theory. Beth Ellen uses Piano Safari extensively in her teaching, from Piano Safari Friends for her youngest students to Piano Safari for the Older Student, and everything in between. She has attended a Piano Safari conference at Ohio University, as well as multiple online trainings. Beth Ellen integrates her extensive training in music and movement in her lessons, and she tailors lessons to each individual child’s needs. As well as providing students with a strong foundation in piano technique and musicality, Beth Ellen encourages creativity and improvisation in her lessons. As a professional musician, Beth Ellen works as a soloist, chamber musician and collaborative pianist. As a music educator, she has been on the faculties of many schools, including The Juiiliard School, the United Nations International School, the Chapin School, the Hewitt School, the Sayre School, Lexington Montessori, and Redwood Cooperative. She is the founder and director of Children’s Music Workshop, a sought-after music and movement program for young children in Lexington.
