Diane Garland

Diane has been teaching piano for over twenty years. She earned her Bachelors and Masters of Music in Piano Performance from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. She got her start during a piano pedagogy course at IU, and has taught private piano since graduating, all the while working as staff pianist at Rice University Shepherd School of Music, and later as an orchestra librarian at the Houston Symphony. After relocating to Seattle, she came by chance to teaching piano again at the request of her Magnolia neighbors. What she started as a studio of two students has grown into a studio of over thirty students over the past ten years. When she’s not at the piano with a student, you can often find her dropping off and picking up her kids from school or walking her giant dog in Discovery Park.
