Teaching piano makes me happy! I’ve been teaching for over 35 years. For 25+ of those years, I taught the Suzuki Piano Method with quite a bit of training. While teaching Suzuki piano, I always included lots of music theory games and extra scale and theory lessons, but about 4 years ago, I mostly abandoned the Suzuki system because I found parents and students not willing to do the listening required to successfully advance through the lessons. I now used a compilation of different methods including theory games and activities, to work with each student. I have found that Piano Safari covers most things that I feel are important, especially introducing reading skills, in a way that totally engages the students. And they can have a “music book” early on to work with. I’m delighted that I have found Piano Safari to use with most students of all ages.
