Lydia Sander

A native of Ohio, pianist Lydia Sander currently resides in Fort Worth, Texas, teaching as a studio instructor at Parker Piano Studios. She has performed as a solo artist in various competitions, recitals, churches, and special events, also collaborating with instrumentalists, vocalists, choirs, and dancers. In addition to teaching and performing, Ms. Sander is a dedicated member of MTNA and distinguishes herself as a lecturer, presenting at state and national conferences.

Ms. Sander actively promotes community through interdisciplinary art performance. She has completed multiple collaborative performances with dance and various other art forms. Through these inter-art experiences, Ms. Sander encourages music teachers and students to explore the many immersive benefits of interdisciplinary work throughout their own study.

Alongside her passion for pedagogy and interdisciplinary art projects, Ms. Sander is also enthusiastic about composition and arranging. Her debut arrangements can be found in the recently published The Joy of Hymns book 1, a collection comprised of elementary student/teacher arrangements. The Joy of Hymns book 1 is the first in a hymn series project published by Piano Safari.

After graduating summa cum laude from Ohio University Honors Tutorial College with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and the Ohio University Certificate in Entrepreneurship, Ms. Sander earned her Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy at Texas Christian University. Her former piano instructors include Mr. Harold Martina, Dr. Emely Phelps, Dr. Christopher Fisher, and Dr. Stephanie Wu.
