Musician Maker Studio is owned by Betsy (King) Breaker and has been providing piano lessons to greater Le Sueur area musicians since 2008. As an advanced pianist and church musician, Betsy enjoys teaching all ages and stages of piano studies from very beginners through standard repertoire such as Chopin, Bach, Mozart and Joplin!
Musician Maker Studio has partnered with St. Anne’s School in Le Sueur to provide school-day lessons and then after-school lessons are taught out of Betsy’s home studio on her Steinway L grand piano.
Betsy began piano lessons at age 6, studied piano all through high school and auditioned into the University of Minnesota’s Piano Performance Minor program while she obtained her degree in actuary science. After 15 years in the financial services industry Betsy made formal a vocation that had begun informally a few years earlier: teaching piano.
Piano Safari became one of the primary method books in Musician Maker Studio curriculum in 2012 and it has provided dedicated musicians an extraordinary foundation in music making and music reading ever since! Betsy especially appreciates the improv and rote pieces along with the solid pedagogical sequencing of skills to become great music readers and performers.
